The Process of Drawing Harry Potter : First Meeting on the Hogwarts Express
Share

I remember when I first saw the Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone trailer as a child. I thought, ‘Wow, this looks incredible!’
Of course, one of the most iconic scenes is when the Golden Trio meets for the first time. So, I decided to capture it in my drawing.
I called this drawing "The First Meeting on the Hogwarts Express"

What's the Deal with Hogwarts Express?
Before we get into the nitty-gritty of drawing, let's talk about the Hogwarts Express. This enchanted train departs from Platform 9¾ at King's Cross Station, taking young witches and wizards to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It's not your average train ride, that's for sure!
Materials Used
I used Faber-Castell 9000 pencils, a black pen, and Daler Rowney Graduate paper. This is my favorite paper because it preserves fine details and isn’t too grainy.
Drawing Steps

I chose to draw Harry when he first saw the Hogwarts Express and was filled with excitement. For the background, I, of course, included the Hogwarts Express. I couldn’t leave out Hagrid, as he was sharing Hogwarts secrets he shouldn’t have, as well as Molly and Ginny.

One of my favorite scenes of Hermione, Ron, and Harry on the train is when Hermione makes that iconic face while speaking to Ron, saying something like, 'And you are...?' And, of course, Ron—being Ron—answers with his mouth full. Not to mention Harry showing his scar!

For the bottom, I considered adding more faces, but the space was limited, and it would have looked overcrowded. So, I decided to include a small Hogwarts train instead.
